Our Story
Digital Signage is the fastest growing advertising segment in the world - EZ, clean, and sustainable. Because of Oregon's only Digital City Guide, many Oregon hotels, our visitors, future residents, and business travelers can get information about local attractions at the click of a remote. The number one question we ask is where to eat and shop; and now those questions are now answered right when we turn on our hotel TV's.
As frequent traveler and hotel guests, our staff found it was always a challenge to find out information about the best local restaurants, activities and unique shops. Sure, there were sometimes brochures in the lobby, but, when you are in a hurry with kids or friends, it is difficult to sort through all those papers. Plus, the trend in hotel management is not to clutter the rooms with magazines and paper that can be dirtied, torn, and wrinkled. And, kids write on anything in the rooms anyway. Our goal was to provide this information quickly to a new age of harried and busy travelers that wanted answers at their fingertips without having to search. TheCity Guide was founded, with the help and guidance of Corvallis hotels, Comcast, and Bend Broadband. The goals is to promote our local economy and drive people out of the hotel rooms and into the community to spend money and stay longer, while providing hotels with a hotel channel.
Also, due to high gas prices, more of our fellow working professionals and families are staying at the mid scale brand hotels because they offer great accommodations, wonderful amenities, and a great waffle breakfast in one place at an affordable rate. Occupancy at these hotels is high. This leaves everyone money to dine, eat, and shop at the "in" local places. Business travelers who acquire frequent stay points at branded hotels, busy with work, also need this crucial information because they don't have kitchens.
Now, travelers like you and me can enjoy the Visitors Channel, Digital City Guide, in five cities throughout Oregon at participating hotels at the flick of a remote on the only true in-room Visitors' Guide. The Channel is personalized to each hotel so that we don't miss the breakfast bar and find out where the pool is. Also, we can see what other cities have to offer and many of our participating hotels are offering packages at their hotels in other cities, too. The theme is "Where the Locals Go," and we try to showcase the shops, eateries, and attractions that will provide you the most memorable and enjoyable Oregon experience.
